Mother's Day for us at Eye of the Child was not just one event, it was a whole day of love, from morning to afternoon
We started the day at Lilongwe Social Rehabilitation Centre to celebrate the special mothers - the caregivers.
These are women who mother children who have no one. They give them love, food, shelter, and hope every single day.
We went to say thank you for the great job.
With support from our Eye of the Child staff , we handed over a beautiful Mother's Day picture frame and mother's day gifts.
You should have seen their faces! So much joy and grateful hearts. They truly felt seen and appreciated.
We ended the day where our heart is - at our shelter with our girls.
We had a Mother's Day party! Good food, music, laughter, and a lot of dancing.
Our girls ate, they laughed, they danced freely. It was not just about food — it was about belonging. About reminding every girl that she is loved, she is family, and she is worthy.
From giving love in the morning to celebrating love in the afternoon — that was our Mother's Day.
Happy Mother's Day from the Eye of the Child family!
